Terms of Service

Effective July 16, 2026

These terms govern your use of the COBMS web application operated by Cranky Old Bastard Motorsport ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.

The service

COBMS provides a vehicle-setup logbook and automated, advisory setup suggestions for closed-course motorsport. Suggestions are informational starting points, not professional engineering advice. The Disclaimer is part of these terms.

Assumption of risk; limitation of liability

Motorsport is inherently dangerous. You assume all risk associated with vehicle setup, maintenance, and operation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, and our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including personal injury or property damage arising from setup changes you choose to apply.

Subscriptions

Pro is billed through Stripe at $14.99/month or $119/year, renewing automatically until canceled. You can cancel anytime from Settings → Manage billing; access continues through the paid period. Prices may change with notice before your next renewal. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

Your account and data

Keep your credentials secure; you're responsible for activity on your account. You own the data you log. We may use aggregated, de-identified data to improve the engine. You may not abuse, reverse engineer, scrape, or resell the service.

Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Venue lies in the state and federal courts of Jefferson County, Kentucky.

Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after changes is acceptance.
